The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing. |
It is a very exciting time to be working in quantum technologies. All around the planet, corporations and universities are competing for quantum talent. The surprise for many is that a student cannot learn quantum physics at the same speed they develop coding skills in Python. Understanding quantum laws requires time, depth and reflection. CQTs PhD programme supports students to make this journey in a friendly community with access to world-class laboratories.
We welcome applications from undergraduates across a range of disciplines to join our teams doing basic research, building advanced instruments and developing quantum technologies for computation and simulation, communication and security and sensing and metrology.
