2022 NUS Virtual PhDShow! FAQ

The 2022 NUS PhDShow! showcases the excellent research, achievements, talents and aspirations of our graduating and recently graduated PhD students.

The ‘Stars’ of the NUS PhDShow! are the graduating and recently graduated PhD students from various different disciplines / faculties at the National University of Singapore.

This PhDShow! target diverse audiences including

  • Potential employers. investors, collaborators, as well as those looking for quality post-doctoral trainees to view quality research and identify appropriate PhD talents from NUS.
  • Prospective students who would like to view quality research of PhD students at NUS to facilitate their decision about whether to pursue their PhD education at NUS.
  • Anyone who is interested to know more about the research of the PhD students at NUS and make connections with these students.

Where: The Link to the show will be opened at https://nusgs.nus.edu.sg/ on the 4th Oct 2022 at 8.30 am SGT

When: 4 Oct 2022. 0830 to 1900 SGT (UTC+8). 

  • From the 4 Oct 2022, you can view the PhDShow! anytime, from anywhere in the world and for as long as you like.
  • You can interact with the ‘Stars’ (ie the student presenters) of the 2022 NUS PhDShow! anytime for as long as you like from 0830 to 1900 SGT (UTC+8) on the 4 Oct 2022 through a link on their profile webpage.
    • If they are unavailable, you may drop them a message through another link on their profile webpage to make other arrangements to meet.

 

  • If you have registered for this event or the 2022 NUS Graduate Education Virtual Open House, you can just simply log in with the same email address that you register. Otherwise, please register for this event (https://nusgs.nus.edu.sg/2022onestopregn_voh_phdshow/) before logging in.
  • Yes, you can login and out anytime you please! Simply re-login with your email address at your convenience.

There is no registration fee as the 2022 NUS PhDShow! is FREE for everyone. Do spread the word and invite anyone who is interested to know more about the research of PhD students at NUS to register for this event (https://nusgs.nus.edu.sg/2022onestopregn_voh_phdshow/)

There is no closing date for registration. You can register anytime, up to the event day (ie 4th Oct 2022) itself to participate in ‘live’ chats with the ‘stars’ of the PhDShow!

Please download zoom or have at least a free zoom account to interact ‘live’ with the presenters. You will also need to register at this link (https://nusgs.nus.edu.sg/2022onestopregn_voh_phdshow/) and login to the event found on the NUS Graduate School homepage (https://nusgs.nus.edu.sg/ ) (link will only be functional from the actual event day)) using the email address that you register.  No password is necessary

Navigating around the 2022 NUS PhDShow! is easy.  After logging in, the brief profiles of the participating students or ‘stars’ will be slowly, but randomly presented to you.  You can click on the brief profile that you are interested in to read more about him/her.  You can also interact/chat with him/her ‘live’ (from 0830 to 1900 SGT (UTC+8), 4 Oct 2022) through a link on his/her profile page. If he/she is unavailable, you can drop him/her a message through another link on his/her profile webpage to make other arrangements to meet.

Alternatively, there is also a user-friendly, advanced search function to facilitate your search to identify appropriately talented participating students / ‘stars’ before you click on their profile to know more about them or chat ‘live’ with them.  

It is good for you to attend the 2022 NUS PhDShow! on the 4th Oct 2022 from 0830 to 1900 SGT (UTC+8) so that you will be able to interact ‘live’ with the ‘stars’ of the show (ie. the presenters).  Nonetheless, fret not if you unable to attend on that day.  The 2022 NUS PhDShow! web-portal will remain accessible to the public after the event (till perhaps end of the year) except there will not be any ‘live’ interactions.  You just have to register (if you have not previously done so) and login with your registered email to view the 2022 NUS PhDShow!  If you would like to communicate with any of the ‘stars’ / presenter, you can leave a note at his/her profile webpage.

A webcam is optional for your interaction with the presenters.
