The MBI Graduate Programme aims to train students in interdisciplinary research and collaborative science, leading to a PhD through research in mechanobiology. MBI is looking for outstanding local and international students with diverse backgrounds in STEM fields. Students will be supported throughout their research project by our fully staffed open-lab and have access to latest research technologies in microscopy and bioimage analysis, micro and nano-fabrication and high-throughput molecular genomics.
With an interdisciplinary and highly-integrated team approach to discovery and invention, MBI constitutes a new paradigm in biomedical research and graduate education. Our curriculum is crafted to train innovative and influential leaders for not only in academia but also in R&D-based industry and biomedical start-ups.
The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) is a Research Centre of Excellence hosted at NUS devoted to the study of mechanobiology.
Mechanobiology is a new paradigm in life sciences. By interrogating biological systems from a physical and mechanical perspective, mechanobiology is key to answering questions such as:
At MBI, our researchers are dedicated to discovering new knowledge in mechanobiology and translating this towards new biomedical innovations to benefit society.
