- The Master of Science (Chemical Engineering) is one of our most established master’s programmes offered at NUS. We are dedicated to equipping our students with advanced scientific and technological knowledge. The MSc (Chemical Engineering) programme aims to educate and train chemical engineers who will be able to join and contribute to various industries, such as oil and gas, process and manufacturing, fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals, semiconductor and microelectronics, energy, and research.
- We aim to develop engineers who are adaptable, flexible as well as technically proficient to tackle an increasingly interdisciplinary, collaborative, and global work environment. We are focused on fostering versatility that leads to more professional options while at the same time offering a firm grounding in the broad fundamentals of chemical engineering and familiarity with several specialised areas.

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is a vibrant and versatile discipline that forms a bedrock of our modern lives. Chemical engineers are involved in the manufacture of nearly everything we interact with and use daily, from computers and phones to cosmetics, foods, and pharmaceuticals. Chemical engineers are also at the forefront of addressing some of the most important global challenges facing mankind today, from climate change and sustainable energy to affordable and effective healthcare.
- At NUS ChBE, we are strongly committed to nurturing our students to be leaders in research and innovation, engineering practice, industry, government, and entrepreneurship. To this end, we seek to provide a world-class and design-centric curriculum with strong local relevance and a global outlook to our students. - Applicants whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate their English proficiency by means of the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test scores. Applicants may be waived from this requirement if they completed their degree programme taught entirely in English, situated in an English-speaking country, for example (non-exhaustive list) Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, USA.
- The official TOEFL/IELTS scoresheets must be provided during the online application period, otherwise your application will not be considered.
- The TOEFL score or IELTS result is only valid for 2 years after the test and should be valid at the beginning of the application period.
