Why Did You Choose To Pursue A PhD?

My main reason for doing a PhD is that I want to be a university professor in the future. This is what I want to do in my life – to explore new things, teach students and do good research. I am also interested in exploring new scientific ideas and doing experiments.

Why Did You Choose To Pursue Your PhD At NUS?

My major in NUS has a good research environment, is reputable worldwide and highly ranked. These are the main reasons I chose NUS. After studying here for four years, I find that there are also many good professors and researchers here, which gives you many opportunities to learn from them and collaborate with them.

Can You Tell Us Briefly About Your Research Topic?

My research is focus on the single atom electrocatalysts for energy applications. in details, it is to synthesize atomically dispersed metal catalysts, explore wide electrocatalytic applications (such as water splitting, CO2 reduction), and use advanced microscopy techniques to illustrate why these materials are active towards these reactions.
