Under the NUS Graduate School (NUSGS) Student Ambassador’s (SA) Programme, senior NUS graduate students befriend prospective NUS graduate students, sharing their personal PhD journey at NUS to excite, educate and entice these prospective students about Singapore, the vibrant student life in NUS and in the respective home Faculties/Schools and Programmes. This is to facilitate better informed decision-making for potential applicants about whether a PhD at NUS in Singapore is suitable for them.

Chat with and answer enquiries from potential applicants during Open Day
Admission Efforts
To spread awareness and knowledge about NUS and also about the programme they have applied to.
Offer information, advice and guidance about life as a PhD student, admission processes, candidature and scholarship matters.
Networking Opportunities
Befriend prospective students and share about nuances of living in Singapore (e.g. our public transport system, dining options and culture, banking, groceries, safety, etc.)
As NUSGS SA, you will not only be able to hone your presentation and communication skills, you will also have opportunities to widen your network through interaction with NUSGS, other student ambassadors as well as prospective students. NUSGS SA will receive a Certificate to officially acknowledge their participation in this programme and can claim GAP hours (where applicable).

NUSGS SA is a positive role model and represents the face and voice of NUS as well as a specific faculty/school/programme. He/She will participate in one or a few of the various outreach and admissions efforts
- Outreach
- present/share at information/networking sessions
- participate as a panellist in the virtual Open Houses
- help to man the virtual chat rooms and field enquiries from potential/interessted applicants
- Admissions
- Befriend selected prospective students
- To share about Singapore on how to navigate the nuances of living in Singapore even before they start their programme at NUS (e.g. our public transport system, dining options and culture, banking, groceries, safety, etc)
- To spread awareness and knowledge about NUS and also about the programme they have applied to.
