FASS is one of the largest faculties in the National University of Singapore, with a wide range of academic offerings in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Asian Studies and Language Studies. We offer excellent guidance for our graduate students in topics that interest them, with particular richness in Asia research. |
Welcome to the Graduate Studies Division, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). We have a diverse international community of more than 1,000 students in a wide range of both research and coursework programmes across the Faculty.
I am delighted that you have chosen to pursue your graduate programme with us (or you are thinking about doing so).
Our graduate programme has grown rapidly in recent years as NUS has made graduate studies one of its cornerstones as a research university. We offer a good balance between disciplinary and inter-disciplinary academic training in a research environment where faculty members are engaged in world-class research. Our programme also provides an increasing number of opportunities for selected students to spend time at partner institutions overseas. Besides an array of scholarships, we continue to provide strong financial support for our Masters and PhD students to participate in international conferences and conduct local and overseas fieldwork. Many of our graduate students are also actively involved in the various research activities offered by the Faculty’s many research clusters.
Our aim is for you to be able to pursue your studies in a supportive and forward-looking learning environment that is not only sustained by leading faculty members, healthy funding support and excellent research facilities and opportunities, but that also will prepare you for a successful career in research and academia.
