Why did you choose to do graduate education at NUS? If you received offers from other universities, why did you pick NUS?

I decided to pursue my PhD study at NUS because of its supportive academic environment and vibrant research culture. Faculties and graduate students here are genuinely interested in research and are open-minded for intellectual exchange.

How does graduate school compare to your undergraduate experience?

Unlike the coursed-based undergraduate study, PhD study is a different journey that cultivates your independent and critical thinking on research questions.

What impact do you hope to have with your research?

My research is focused on epigenetic regulation in multiple myeloma, the second most common blood cancer. Unraveling the fundamental mechanisms governing myeloma progression may provide new insights into disease prognosis and therapeutic strategies.

Share something fun from your graduate journey at NUS.

It’s great fun to join the NUS Medicine graduate student society. We organized the annual conference on biomedical research. I’m proud to be part of the publicity&design team that made those mind-blowing logos and banners for the conference.
