Why did you choose to do graduate education at NUS? If you received offers from other universities, why did you pick NUS?

I had a wonderful learning experience during my undergraduate years at Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies. The faculty is supportive, nurturing and pushes us to be independent and critical thinkers.

How does graduate school compare to your undergraduate experience?

Graduate school requires more independent learning and drive to complete your research. Your schedule is more flexible during graduate school (own time, own target), but you need to be highly motivated and responsible for your own progress.

Briefly share about your research or thesis (i.e. dissertation topic for Masters by Coursework students).

I conducted a scoping review and qualitative study to understand nurses and physicians experiences in telemedicine for long-term care. Currently, I am in the midst of developing entrustable professional activities and an assessment tool to augment telemedicine curricula for nursing home nurses.

What impact do you hope to have with your research?

I hope to shine the light on the expanding role of the nursing home workforce in telemedicine. Nurses are key carers of residents in nursing homes, they are highly competent and should be empowered to deliver care through innovative means to enhance care for the residents. Hopefully, this will also add knowledge to developing telehealth education for nurses in other settings.
