Excellent opportunities are available for students to be immersed in a vibrant research-intensive environment.  The Master’s by Research is particularly appropriate for you if you wish to develop your research abilities without committing yourself to the larger scale doctoral degree.   1. Welcome to the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The discipline of electrical and computer engineering pervades every aspect of modern society and continues to be the cornerstone of rapid technological advances that improve the quality of life in this millennium. NUS ECE strives to be at the forefront of engineering education to equip our students to be engineering leaders in industry, research, and entrepreneurship.
  2. ECE is the largest department at NUS with over 70 tenure-track and teaching faculty, and 2400 undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students.
  3. ECE is a research-intensive department. Our faculty research staff and students are engaged in cutting-edge research activities that span a diversity of areas. These include Communications & Networks; Control, Intelligent Systems & Robotics; Integrated Circuits & Embedded Systems; Power & Energy Systems; Microelectronic Technologies & Devices; Microwave & RF; and Signal Analysis & Machine Intelligence. By leveraging expertise in these core areas, ECE engages industry and government agencies to address challenges embodied in the Smart Nation initiative such as the creation of intelligent built environments, transportation, urban sustainability, security, and health-care.

Target Audience

Working professionals, practicing engineers, and university graduates who seek to upgrade their knowledge and core capabilities in various areas of engineering involving nano-science and nano-technology, biomedical systems, computer/multimedia systems, digital and wireless communications, intelligent control systems, electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices, silicon integrated circuits, microwaves and electromagnetics, and electrical energy systems.
