Biomedical Engineering
  1. The NUS Biomedical Engineering programme aims to develop engineers who will be able to analyse problems from both an engineering and biomedical science perspective.
  2. Students will be educated on the fundamentals and methodologies in electrical, chemical, mechanical and material engineering, with a focus on their application to biomedical problems. This would enable our students to have both the foundation and visibility to develop effective and practical solutions relating to human health

  1. The NUS Department of Biomedical Engineering is a University Department which was established in 2002. Our talented academic staff has varied background in engineering, life sciences and medicine.
  2. Many of said staff has joint appointments with either the YLL School of Medicine, Faculty of Science, Mechanobiology Institute or A*STAR Research Institutes. This is a reflection of the multidisciplinary and integrative approach we take in biomedical.

The Master’s by research (Biomedical Engineering) program is designed for fresh graduates and working professionals who are considering a purposeful career in the fast-growing healthcare technology development and healthcare sector.

GPAProspective students should have a relevant Bachelor’s degree with honours at least Second Class Lower or its equivalent. Candidates applying for University’s Scholarships are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree with honours at least Second Class Upper.

  1. A good TOEFL score or equivalent if the medium of instruction is not in English. For further information on the English Language requirement: please click here.

  2. The TOEFL score or IELTS result is only valid for 2 years after the test and should be valid at the beginning of the application period for the designated MSc degree

  3. Selected applicants may also be required to participate in interviews
