The Master of Science (Speech and Language Pathology) is a 2-year full-time programme offered by the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine under the administration of the Division of Graduate Medical Studies. It is the only master’s level training programme in Singapore for entry to the profession of Speech and Language Pathology and is accredited by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore.

Following a Problem Based Learning approach, students learn to assess and treat disorders related to Child and Adult Speech, Language, Fluency, Voice, and Swallowing. Further, students receive hands-on experience with clients during clinical placements, and undertake supervised research projects that will have a very significant impact on current clinical needs in Singapore. Past graduates have gone on to successful careers in healthcare and community sectors, and many hold responsible leadership roles in the industry.

The biennial intake typically comprises 30 candidates and includes mid-career graduates with relevant work experience, as well as some overseas candidates. Graduates of the MSc(SLP) programme may find rewarding career prospects at hospitals, social service agencies, special education schools, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes, and private practice.
