NUS Suzhou Research Institute (NUSRI) is the first overseas research institute of NUS. It is registered and located in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). Our vision is to become a global institute for knowledge creation and innovation. Leveraging on the world-class resources of NUS, and aiming to promote the industrial development in SIP, NUSRI seeks to develop high-caliber talents who are passionate about original research and technology innovation.
The NUSRI-affiliated PhD programme comprises 4-year academic study and research according to the “1+2+1” model. During their 2-year stay at NUSRI, the students have the opportunity to carry out industry-relevant research under the co-supervision of industry collaborators. The key research areas of the PhD research projects include energy and environmental technology, food science and technology, new media and software development, biomedical science and engineering, and functional nanomaterials, etc.
