A puzzling finding is that every cancer patient has immune cells that can kill his cancer cells. The reason they don’t and allow the cancer to grow is that the cancer develops mechanism to inhibit the anti-cancer immune response. Our work aims to enable the immune cells to overcome this inhibition and to eliminate the cancer.
Research programs:1. Develop a novel and effective dendritic cell based cancer immunotherapy.2. Eliminate regulatory T cells from the tumor microenvironment.3. Repolarize the immunoinhibitory nature of the tumor microenvironment to an immunostimulatory milieau.
