Faculty of Science Dean's Graduate Fellowship

The Dean’s Graduate Fellowship (”Fellowship”) is awarded to PhD candidates who show exceptional promise or accomplishment in research. A number of PhD candidates are selected each semester by Faculty of Science for the award.

English Language Proficiency: IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 5.0 (95 on the previous scoring scale). This requirement applies only if the language of instruction for the applicant’s undergraduate degree was not English.

International Students awarded with the Fellowship need to fulfill 416 hours under the Graduate Assistantship Programme

Other Terms and Conditions

The Fellowship is tenable for one (1) year in the first instance and thereafter may, subject to the recipient’s satisfactory progress, be renewed each semester at the Faculty’s discretion. The maximum period of the Fellowship is four (4) years.

The Recipient may not accept employment, whether or not he/she is remunerated, or hold concurrently any other scholarship, fellowship, allowance or other award during the period of the Fellowship, without the prior written approval of the University.

How to Apply?

Applicants may apply for the scholarship within their admissions application through GradApp and fulfill additional scholarship application requirements stated there.

Applicants may apply for NUS Research Scholarship in their admissions application through GradApp. Faculty of Science will then award qualified applicants with this Dean’s Graduate Fellowship.

Application window for January intake: 1 January – 15 May of the previous year; August intake: 16 May to 15 Nov of the previous year.
