Why did you choose to do graduate education at NUS? If you received offers from other universities, why did you pick NUS?

I was attracted to the amazing research opportunities at NUS. The NUS Business School Marketing PhD is a challenging and exciting programme. In addition to the opportunities to receive training and dedicated guidance from the outstanding faculty in a rigorous research environment, there were ample opportunities to connect with international scholars through frequent seminars and conferences. Furthermore, there are opportunities to collaborate with public or private organisations on research with both academic and practical impact.

What impact do you hope to have with your research?

The highlight of my PhD was the opportunity to work with a team of physicians on a healthcare project. This extremely rewarding experience deepened my passion for research, as I could see the potential impact it may have on improving people’s health and lives. I am grateful to NUS for the opportunities and support during my PhD, and I hope to make a positive contribution in improving people’s health and wellbeing through my research.

Share something about campus life at NUS that new students would be interested to hear about.

I particularly enjoyed staying at the UTown accommodation in the first two years of my PhD life. In addition to it being extremely convenient to get to classes, there was always something happening around UTown (celebrations, bazaars, sports games, etc.) which made living there a very fun and vibrant experience!

What message would you like to give to students interested in graduate studies in NUS?

It’s going to be a challenging, but incredibly exciting and rewarding experience!
